Magnific Pricing: Plans, Credits, Upscale Cost, Refunds

Magnific pricing changed in 2026, so older guides are often wrong. Magnific (formerly Freepik) now sells three individual plans, Premium, Premium+ and Pro Starter, that share one pool of credits across image, video, audio and upscaling tools. The standalone upscaler token plans described in older articles are gone, according to third-party coverage.

This guide uses Magnific's pricing page as seen on October 25, 2026, converts credits into a cost per upscale, and covers the annual discount, the extra first-year discount, cancellation and refunds. It is based on Magnific's own pages and our arithmetic, not on test runs. Searchers also type 'magnific ai pricing' for the same answer, so both phrasings are covered here.

Quick answer: Premium costs $20 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly, with 240,000 credits a year. Premium+ is $45 or $33.75 billed yearly with 600,000 credits, unlimited generations on selected models and Topaz upscalers. Pro Starter starts at $66.92 a month billed yearly on the page. A 2K Precision upscale costs 90 credits, about $0.05 to $0.09. Annual plans are refundable within 30 days only if you have not used credits or downloaded anything.

Magnific pricing plans: Premium, Premium+ and Pro Starter

The pricing page opens on the annual view. The crossed-out prices are the monthly-billing rates. The table combines the page with Magnific's published figures; check the live page for anything that moves.

Prices exclude VAT and local taxes. Annual credits arrive all at once and last a year with no monthly reset. Teams, Business and Enterprise plans exist but their prices are not on the individual view. A third-party guide lists Business at $55 per seat per month billed yearly with a two-seat minimum.

Why Magnific prices differ between sites

On October 25 the public page also showed a 'Save 50% off on Premium annual' banner that ended October 26, with Premium at $7.25 a month. Third-party guides show $14.50 for Premium annual and $110 for Pro Starter, and another shows $16 for Premium. Promotions, billing regions and page revisions explain most gaps. Treat any number older than a week as a hint, and confirm on the pricing page before paying.

What each Magnific plan is for: upscaler or full suite

Magnific started as an AI upscaler and is now a full creative suite. The plan names matter less than which tools you use.

• Premium: Spaces, 250M+ stock assets, image, video and audio models, the Magnific image and video upscalers, a commercial AI license, MCP and plugins, ComfyUI and API access and Brand Kit. The pricing card mentions topping up credits, but Magnific's help center says extra credit packs require Premium+, Pro or Business. It covers upscaling for most photo work.
• Premium+: everything in Premium, plus unlimited generations on selected models, music rights, and Topaz upscalers. Our earlier comparison found the Magnific Upscaler at up to 10K starts at this level.
• Pro Starter: everything in Premium+ with larger credit pools, for steady professional volume.

If you only want to enlarge photos, Premium is the entry point and Premium+ is for 10K output and Topaz. If you also generate images or video, the shared credit pool is what you are buying. Magnific upscaler pricing: credits per upscale

Magnific's credits documentation lists upscale costs in credits. These figures come from its published table for the web app, and Magnific says it can change credit costs at any time.

Other Precision modes (foto, foto denoiser, v1 high hdr) cost 90 credits each. Hovering over the Upscale button shows the exact credit cost before you run it. Here is what those credits cost in dollars, based on the plan price divided by its credits:

On Premium, $174 buys about 2,666 upscales at 2K, 666 at 4K or 166 at 8K if every credit goes to upscaling. The documentation says Premium+, Business and Pro include unlimited editing, so these credit costs apply only to the Premium plan, while the upscaler page words it as unlimited except for Magnific models, and a third-party review says the unlimited allowance does not cover the upscaler. Plan on spending credits for Magnific-model upscales unless the Upscale button shows otherwise. Magnific also has a separate API billed per image by output size.

Magnific annual discount and first-year extra discount

Annual billing is the main saving. Premium falls from $20 to $14.50 a month (27.5% less) and Premium+ from $45 to $33.75 (25% less). Annual plans also pay for the whole year up front.

The link below opens the pricing page with a coupon applied. On October 25, annual Premium and Premium+ showed 'Extra 20% OFF' there, at $11.60 and $27 a month. Against monthly billing, that is about 42% less on Premium and 40% less on Premium+ in the first year. Monthly billing and Pro Starter did not show the extra discount, and Magnific's help center says discount codes apply to the first payment only, with renewals at the standard price. Over the second year, expect $14.50 and $33.75 unless Magnific changes them.

Magnific cancellation and refund policy

The pricing page advertises a 30-day refund guarantee and no cancellation fees. Magnific's help center article on subscriptions and refunds adds the conditions, as reported on October 25:

• You must request a refund within 30 days of the payment.
• It is only available if you have not used the service: no downloads and no AI credits consumed.
• Only the current billing period can be refunded, and the request must come from the email linked to your account.
• Annual plans follow the same 30-day rule. An eligible refund is the full annual payment, with no partial refunds for unused months.
• After 30 days, you can cancel the renewal. The plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Generated content stays in your account, and the commercial license for files downloaded while subscribed remains valid.
• Credit packs bought separately are refundable within 14 days if none of the credits were used.
• If you subscribed through Apple or Google, cancel and request refunds through that store.

Magnific's help center describes the website steps as Plan & billing, then Danger zone, then Cancel subscription. Some users report receiving little back after cancelling an annual plan partway through. Because the refund requires zero use, test the tool on a free tier or a monthly plan before committing to a yearly payment.

Is Magnific free?

Magnific's pricing page text did not list a free plan on October 25, and one third-party review says there is no free tier on the plan list. Another guide reports a free tier of about 20 images a day, and Magnific promotes a free upscaler page. Free access seems to be limited and can change, so check the upscaler page for current limits.

Which Magnific plan to pick

• A few upscales and some experiments: Premium billed monthly, $20. You keep the option to leave and a monthly refund window.
• Regular upscaling and image generation for a year: Premium billed yearly. About $0.065 per 2K upscale at $14.50, lower via the first-year link.
• 10K output, Topaz upscalers, heavy daily use: Premium+ billed yearly.
• Team or agency volume: Pro Starter or Business, after pricing the credits you actually burn.

For most people who upscale or generate images through the year, Premium billed yearly is the plan to start with, since it covers the upscalers at the lowest annual price that includes them. Move to Premium+ only when you need 10K output or Topaz.
