Is Higgsfield Free? What You Get Free in October 2026
Is Higgsfield free? The Free plan has no credits and adds a watermark, the 24-hour trials ended in July, and students apply via Higgsfield For Good.

Is Higgsfield free? Partly. Higgsfield has a Free plan that you can keep indefinitely, but it has no credits, a small set of models and a watermark on every output. The free trials that Google keeps surfacing ('24 hours free', '1 day free trial', 'unlimited free') were limited-time offers from July 2026, and Higgsfield's help center says plainly: 'There's no trial period.'
This guide separates what is free today from what ended, using Higgsfield's own help center, Terms of Use and blog posts checked on October 25, 2026. It also covers watermarks, commercial use, the student and nonprofit program, and how the partner-link discount relates to all of this. It is written from official pages and cited third-party reports, not from our own test generations.
Quick answer: the Free plan is free forever but works as a preview (no credits, small model set, one job at a time, watermarked output). The 24-hour and 1-day free trials were one-time offers for new accounts that auto-renewed into a paid Plus plan, and the pages we read put their end dates in late July 2026. Higgsfield For Good offers free access to students, professors and nonprofits, but all three applications showed 'Applications are closed.' A partner link is a discount on a paid plan, not a free tier.

Is Higgsfield free to use? What the Free plan includes
The help center describes the Free plan in one sentence: access 'is limited to a small set of models and doesn't include credits.' Paying unlocks 'the full model library, credit allowances, parallel generation.' A Krea blog post dated September 14, 2026 reports that Higgsfield's pricing page labels Free as 'Limited use' with zero credits and one job at a time, and that free image generation is limited to two models (Nano Banana Pro and FLUX.2 Pro) with no video generation. That detail comes from Krea, a competing product, so confirm it in your own account. Our pricing guide recorded the same 0 credits and one concurrent job on October 9.
The watermark
Watermarking depends on your account type, not on the model or output quality. The help center says 'every generation carries a Higgsfield watermark' on free accounts and that watermark-free output 'comes with any paid plan.' Removal is not sold separately, and upgrading does not clean files you already made: you have to regenerate them. Higgsfield may also add invisible metadata that flags content as AI-made, and upgrading does not remove it.
Commercial use of free output
Two official documents point in different directions. The pricing table, as reported by Krea on September 14 and recorded in our October 9 pricing check, lists commercial use as 'Not included' on Free. The Terms of Use (section 4.4) say Higgsfield 'does not claim ownership of any of your Inputs or Outputs, nor does it restrict your commercial use of Outputs.' The same section says outputs may not be unique to you and may be used for model training. For client or advertising work, a paid plan is the lower-risk path, and you can ask support@higgsfield.ai which document applies to your account.
Higgsfield free trial: 24 hours free, 1 day free and 3 days
The 'Higgsfield free trial' results describe a series of short promotions, not a standing trial. The pages we read show the pattern:
- July 22, 2026 blog post: 'The 1-Day Free Trial gives 24 hours of All Unlimited access at $0.' You had to add a card, and the trial 'auto-renews into a monthly Plus subscription.' Another Higgsfield post says to 'activate the 1-day trial before it ends on July 23 at 1:30 PM UTC.'
- July 27, 2026 blog post: new users got 24 hours of unlimited generation, with the expanded Unlimited running 'until July 29 at 1:30 PM UTC.' It describes the trial as 'a one-time offer per account, available only to new accounts with no subscription history.'
- July 28, 2026 MCP post: a free 24-hour trial for new users 'until July 31,' with the line that 'Trial offers rotate as limited-time promotions.'
We could not find a 3-day trial or a 33-day trial on any official page, even though both appear in Google's autocomplete. One third-party guide mentions a 3-day, 100-credit MCP trial, but we found no Higgsfield page that confirms it, so treat it as unverified.
Is there a Higgsfield free trial right now?
Not as a standing feature. The plans help article says 'There's no trial period' and that you can try the free tier and 'upgrade when you're ready.' We found no live trial offer on the official pages checked on October 25, 2026. Higgsfield has re-run promotions before, so an offer may reappear. If one does, read the card and renewal terms before you enter payment details.
If you start a trial offer, how to avoid being charged
- The July offers said nothing was charged on day one, but a card was on file and the trial converted to monthly Plus unless you cancelled.
- Cancelling early did not shorten the trial: the posts say you keep access to the end of the 24 hours.
- Cancel from Manage Account, then Subscription. Our Higgsfield cancel subscription guide has the full steps, credit rules and refund conditions.
- Renewals are not refundable under the help center's refund rules, so cancel before the converting date shown on the Subscription page.
Higgsfield unlimited free: what 'unlimited' means
'Unlimited' is not the same as free. The All Unlimited post says Plus and above 'include 7 days of All Unlimited access with purchase,' and that Starter does not include the offer. Subscribers on higher plans could also buy an Unlimited Bundle in the Marketplace for $99 for one day or $250 for three days, according to that July 22 post. The conditions are narrow:
- It works on the web app only. MCP, CLI, Canvas, Supercomputer, Marketing Studio and Shorts Studio always use credits.
- Unlimited runs one generation at a time (image, video or audio), shared across all models, and jobs go through the standard queue, which can slow at peak times.
- 'Unlimited is for personal, human use.' Automation, credential sharing and reselling are prohibited.
- You must switch on the Unlimited toggle in the model menu, or generations still use credits.
- Unlimited outputs never carry a watermark because the feature requires a subscription.
The pricing and plan details, including which plans get which windows, are in our Higgsfield AI pricing guide.
Is Higgsfield free for students?
Higgsfield For Good is the official route. The page says the program offers 'free access to professional AI creative tools' to nonprofit organizations, students and professors, with about five minutes to apply and a reply within roughly two weeks. On October 25, 2026, all three tracks showed 'Applications are closed.' We found no standing student discount outside that program.
Is Higgsfield free with Claude or ChatGPT?
Using Higgsfield through an assistant over MCP is not free by default. The July posts state that Unlimited is 'not included on MCP,' so generations from Claude or ChatGPT draw on credits unless a trial is active. The July MCP trial was the exception, and it needed a separate activation step after connecting. For what the connector does and does not do, see Higgsfield MCP explained.
How the partner-link discount relates to free
A partner link does not create a free tier or a trial. Higgsfield's affiliate page says people who log in through a partner link get 'a personal discount of up to 50%, active for three hours from the moment they log in.' The percentage is personal, so it may be lower than 50%, and it applies to a paid purchase. If the Free plan meets your needs, you do not need it. If you were already planning to subscribe, the three-hour window starts at login, so log in when you are ready to check out. Fieldnotes is an independent affiliate participant, not an official partner.
Log in through this link: up to 50% off for 3 hours (Fieldnotes may earn a commission). For a breakdown of every way to pay less, read our Higgsfield discount guide.
What to do instead: a low-cost way to test Higgsfield
- Open the Free plan first to see the interface and the models it allows. Expect watermarks.
- If you need clean output, subscribe monthly rather than yearly while you are unsure. Higgsfield's help center lists a way to switch between monthly and annual billing.
- Refunds are available only for an initial purchase, within 7 days, with no credits spent, minus a fee of up to 6%. Do not generate until you are sure, or the refund window effectively closes.
- Renewals are not refundable, so set a reminder for the first renewal date before you commit to a plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is Higgsfield free to use?
Yes, at a limited level. The Free plan costs nothing and needs no trial, but includes no credits, a small set of models and a watermark on every generation. Paid models and clean output need a subscription.
Does Higgsfield have a free trial?
Not as a permanent feature. The help center says 'There's no trial period.' The 24-hour trials seen in Google results were limited-time offers in July 2026, each requiring a card and converting to monthly Plus unless cancelled.
How do I use Higgsfield for free?
Use the Free plan, or apply to Higgsfield For Good if you are a nonprofit, student or professor and applications are open. Free-plan outputs are watermarked.
Is there a free account for Higgsfield AI?
Yes. A free account gives access to a small set of models with no credits. Your generations are watermarked, and files stay watermarked after you upgrade.
Is Higgsfield free for students?
Only through Higgsfield For Good, which offered free access to students and professors but showed 'Applications are closed' on October 25, 2026.
Bottom line: is Higgsfield free?
Higgsfield is free only as a watermarked preview. If you need real output, plan for a paid subscription, test on monthly billing first, and keep the 7-day refund rule in mind. Check the live pricing page before you pay, since offers and plan details change.
Policies and offers checked on October 25, 2026 and may change. Fieldnotes is not affiliated with Higgsfield beyond its public affiliate program.
