Best way to start: the Free plan, then Starter
Solo creators can run one brand on the Free plan at $0 and move to Starter at $20 per month when they need LinkedIn, unlimited posts or reports; agencies need Advanced for approvals and roles.
Metricool
Metricool free plan start link: 1 brand, 20 posts a monthMetricool pricing is built around brands, not users: a Free plan for 1 brand, Starter from $20 per month for up to 5 brands, and Advanced from $53 per month for 15 brands, all on annual billing. Pay monthly instead and the same plans start at $25 and $67. This guide shows every Metricool plan with annual and monthly prices, what the Free plan really limits, what the add-ons cost, and which plan fits a solo creator versus an agency.
Prices are in USD, exclude VAT, and were checked on Metricool's pricing page, help center and plan comparison pages on October 25, 2026. The pricing page has an Annual (save up to 24%) / Monthly toggle; Metricool's plans article also labels $20 and $53 as billed annually and $25 and $67 as billed monthly.
Quick answer
- Metricool pricing: Free $0 (1 brand); Starter $20 (5 brands) or $36 (10 brands) per month billed annually; Advanced $53, $85 or $159 per month for 15, 25 or 50 brands; Custom for 50+ brands.
- Monthly billing costs more: $25, $45, $67, $107 and $210 for the same plans, and Metricool says annual billing saves up to 24%.
- Solo creator: Free if you do not need LinkedIn or X and post under 20 times a month; otherwise Starter at $20.
- Agency or team: Advanced, because approvals, client and team roles and custom report templates start there.
- Watch the add-ons: X (Twitter) is $10 per month per connected account and is not part of any plan.

What counts as a brand
Metricool's help center describes a brand as one business, brand or customer, with one profile per network or ad platform. Every Google Business Profile location needs its own brand. That is why pricing tracks the number of clients or businesses you manage rather than the number of people on your team.
Is Metricool free? What the Free plan limits
Yes. Metricool says you can use it free forever, with no credit card, and that the Free plan is not a trial. Metricool's help center lists these limits:
- 1 brand, which you can rename but not add to or delete
- 20 published posts per month; only published posts count, a post duplicated to several networks counts once per network, and the count resets on the 1st
- 30 days of analytics history, with a watermark and no export
- No LinkedIn or X; LinkedIn needs a paid plan and X needs a paid plan plus the add-on
- 5 fixed competitors on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky and Twitch, which cannot be changed after adding
- 5 AI credits per month
- No PDF or PowerPoint reports, SmartLinks, hashtag finder, post library, Canva or Google Drive connection
Free still includes the planner, best times, autolists, RSS feeds, the image and video editor, and an inbox for Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, TikTok and YouTube, per the pricing page. For one creator posting a few times a week to Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, that is a usable setup.
Starter vs Advanced: what you get for the money
Starter, $20 to $36 per month
Starter removes the Free limits that hurt most: unlimited posting (subject to a fair use policy), unlimited analytics history, LinkedIn, 100 competitors and 20 AI credits per brand per month. It adds PDF and PowerPoint reports, automated monthly reports, multiple link-in-bio pages, Google Drive and Canva integrations, a post library and cross-brand repurposing. Starter has no team or client management and no approvals.
Advanced, $53 to $159 per month
Advanced adds what agencies need: team and client management, role permissions, a post approval system, customizable report templates, the Data Studio connector, the API with Zapier and Make, recurring scheduling and 35 AI credits per brand. Metricool says Advanced Analytics is included for the first 15 days.
Custom
Custom covers 50+ brands and adds white label, a dedicated account manager and business integration, with pricing by quote.
Metricool add-ons and extra costs
| Add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| X (Twitter) | $10 per month per connected account | Paid plans only; reduced analytics on Starter, full analytics on Advanced |
| Advanced Analytics | From $12 per month (Starter), from $36 per month (Advanced, Custom) | Adds unlimited Studio and campaign dashboards and 30 days of history |
| Canva | Listed on every tier | Price not shown on the page |
| Hashtag tracker | $25 per day | Instagram on all tiers; X on paid tiers |
| White label, business integration | Contact Metricool | Custom plan |
A creator who must post on X from Starter pays $20 plus $10, so $30 per month for 5 brands on annual billing. Collaboration features sit behind Advanced, which a competitor review from Turrboo also flags and Metricool's plan pages confirm.
Annual vs monthly billing
Metricool says annual billing saves up to 24%. The real saving depends on the plan:
- Starter 5: $25 monthly vs $20 annual, a 20% saving ($60 a year)
- Starter 10: $45 vs $36, 20% ($108 a year)
- Advanced 15: $67 vs $53, 21% ($168 a year)
- Advanced 25: $107 vs $85, 21% ($264 a year)
- Advanced 50: $210 vs $159, 24% ($612 a year)
Metricool's plans article also describes annual billing as two months free. Upgrades credit your unused time toward the new plan, and downgrades apply at the end of the billing period.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel any time. The paid plan stays active until the billing period ends, then the account moves to Free. Only one brand stays active after a downgrade: Metricool keeps the oldest brands by creation date and hides, not deletes, the rest, so remove brands you do not want to keep before the change. Metricool's help center says first purchases have a 15-day withdrawal window and some renewals are not refundable, so read the refund policy before an annual renewal. No paid-plan free trial is mentioned on the pages checked.
Which Metricool plan fits solo creators vs agencies
| You are | Plan | Why |

| Solo creator who posts daily or needs LinkedIn | Starter 5, $20 annual | Unlimited posting, full analytics history, LinkedIn, reports |
| Freelancer with up to 10 clients, working alone | Starter 10, $36 annual | $3.60 per brand, reports for clients, no team features needed |
| Agency with staff or client approvals | Advanced 15 to 50 | Roles, approvals, custom report templates, Data Studio and API |
| White label reporting, 50+ brands | Custom | White label and dedicated manager |
Metricool vs other social media schedulers on price
Metricool's own comparison page, which carries no date for competitor prices, lists Hootsuite at $99 per month for up to 10 social accounts, Sprout Social at $199 per month, AgoraPulse at $79 per month and Later at $16.67 per month for up to 8 social networks, against Metricool's Free tier. These are Metricool's claims, so verify any competitor's current price on its own site. The units also differ: Metricool charges per brand, others per social account or seat.
Scheduling is one part of a creator workflow. Fieldnotes has pricing breakdowns for adjacent tools: beehiiv pricing for newsletters and Subscribr pricing for YouTube video planning.
Frequently asked questions
Is Metricool actually free?
Yes, for 1 brand. The Free plan has no expiry and no card requirement, but caps published posts at 20 per month, keeps 30 days of analytics and excludes LinkedIn and X.
How much does Metricool cost per month?
From $20 on annual billing for Starter (5 brands), or $25 billed monthly. Advanced starts at $53 annual or $67 monthly. Prices exclude VAT.
Is Metricool worth it compared with free schedulers?
It is worth considering if you need analytics history, competitor tracking and reports in the same tool as scheduling. If you only need to queue posts, the Free plan or another free scheduler may be enough.
Does Metricool charge per user?
No. Plans are priced by brand count. Team and client management only begin on Advanced, and Starter has no team management.
Do I have to pay extra for X (Twitter)?
Yes. X is a paid add-on at $10 per month per connected account, and it requires a paid plan.
Can I cancel Metricool any time?
Yes. Your plan stays active until the billing period ends, then the account becomes Free with one brand active.
In short, start on Free if you manage one brand and post under 20 times a month. Move to Starter at $20 once you need LinkedIn, unlimited posts or reports, and choose Advanced only when you have clients or teammates who need approvals and roles.
